Time does not exist for the unconscious mind. Unhealed, traumatic, and emotionally charged experiences are stored differently in the mind then regular memories. Essentially these traumatic memories are frozen in time and carried forward so that the feelings of that experience stay fresh no matter how much time has elapsed since the event. Regression is a technique used in Hypnotherapy that allows us to return to past events even if you don't remember the event consciously. Using regression we can go to the source of the problem; the beginning of a belief or behavior; the moment of a trauma. By revisiting these experiences we can bring awareness, perspective, responsibility, respect and healing thereby allowing us to finally process and integrate what happened. Shame is the lie that tells us that we are worth-less. It is a foundational wound that fractures our Being-ness, becoming an embodied belief that tells us that we are "not good enough" or that "something is wrong" with us . Shame must be dealt with differently then the other primary emotions because it attacks our very identity, destroying our inner connection to self and our ability to connect authentically with others. Shame can hide behind or be mislabeled by other feelings; fuel destructive behavior; become the internal voices that criticize and belittle; and cause profound pain throughout our life. Shame is not something that is dealt with or explored often in our society or even in therapeutic settings. Our healing can be blocked or we can feel stuck until we deal with and work to eliminate the shame that has been cutting us off from our innate worthiness. |

Emotions are the language of the unconscious mind. Feelings are an important guidance system that lets us know what we need. Most of us learn to ignore, deny and belittle our feelings. This leads to anxiety, depression and disconnection. Re-connection to our inner self is at the heart of any healing and our feelings are vital to that relationship. Part of the RESET process is to learn new, functional ways of working with the information our feelings and our bodies are sharing with us. Then we can be more fully present to ourselves and those around us as well as creating healthier boundaries and relationships. - Erickson When we enter into trance states (a state of inward focus) we allow ourselves to connect with both our conscious and unconscious minds, opening a world of healing possibilities. Several different types of trance states are used in RESET including hypnosis, self-hypnosis, visualization, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and shamanic journeying. While in trance the client is still in control and will remember everything that happens. The benefits of using trance states is that we bypass the critical part of the mind and engage in a conversation with the deeper unconscious. This allows both minds, the conscious and unconscious, to work together thereby allowing the possibility for profound change and healing on the deepest levels of our being. |
